Directing is an intuitive act, like walking firmly but with trepidation into the unknown.
Directing has to do with having the talent to propose and steer the creative vessel. The commitment to be able to see the sensitive material you are working with, from actors, creatives, designers, technicians, even the creation itself, and of course, the audience. Being sensitive to managing time and space, and knowing how to take on the risk of responding to a situation, with the ability to dive into the unknown. It is an act of generosity.
Creation is not an escape from life, it is diving right into it.
